Camp Wayne requires that all pill medication (prescription and non-prescription) which will be taken on a daily basis be dispensed by CampMeds. You must register your child online at www.campmeds.com and send all required materials to them 30 days before the start of camp to avoid any late charges. (CampMeds does charge a late fee to process any information received in the 30 days before the start of camp.)
All medication packaged by CampMeds will be shipped to camp before your camper arrives. This pre-packaged medication system ensures that our nurses dispense the proper medications at the correct time of day, and that all medications are received at camp prior to your child’s arrival, allowing us time to organize and prepare for their medication needs. With so many campers taking medication during the camp season, we are confident that this is the safest, most reliable and efficient way to dispense medications.
In addition to prescription pill medication we highly recommend that you register with CampMeds to fill:
- Prescription medications in pill form taken “as needed”
- Prescription medications in liquid form (daily or “as needed”)
- Prescription inhalers, ointments, nose sprays and eye drops
- OTC items such as vitamins and nutritional supplements and allergy medications (daily or “as needed”)
All non-pill medication (liquids, inhalers, creams, etc…), taken on a daily basis, which will not be filled by CampMeds MUST be delivered to camp no later than one week before the first day of camp. This will allow adequate time for our Health Center staff to have all medications prepared for the first day of camp. Medications cannot NOT be brought on the bus in backpacks, given to the bus leader, OR packed in the trunks.
Our Health Center stocks typical over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol and Benadryl.
Thank you for following our camp Health Center procedures and helping us achieve our primary goal: the health, well-being, and safety of your child. Should you wish to speak with CampMeds, please send an email to [email protected] or call 954-577-0025.
