Medications at Camp

For the health and safety of our camp community, campers are required to have ALL medication (prescription and non-prescription, oral and topical, daily and as-needed) dispensed by the Health Center throughout the camp season.

Camp Wayne partners with a pre-packaged medication company to ensure that all medications are received at camp prior to your child’s arrival, allowing us time to organize and prepare for their medication needs. With so many campers taking medication during the camp season, this is the safest, most reliable, and efficient way to dispense medications.

In addition to prescription medication, we also require that you register with one of our partner companies to fill the following:

  • OTC medication taken daily or as needed
  • Inhalers, ointments, nose sprays and eye drops
  • Vitamins and nutritional supplements

Medications can NOT be brought on the bus in backpacks or packed in the trunks; however, medications that your child might require on the bus (e.g. inhaler or Epipen) can be given to the bus leader, who will then check the medication into the Health Center upon arrival at camp.

Our Health Center stocks typical over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol and Benadryl.

Thank you for following our camp Health Center procedures and helping us achieve our primary goal: the health and safety of your child.
